Validation of The Gambia’s NGO Bill.

After several consultations and collaboration, the NGO Affairs Agency under the Ministry of Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs is taking a major step towards finalizing the NGO Bill that supports transparency, accountability, and stronger partnerships between NGOs and government.

During the process of revising the bill, key stakeholders including government, NGOs, and international partners have reviewed the Bill to align it with international standards and ensure it protects civic space and promotes effective NGO operations.

This validation session brings together over 50 NGOs, international organizations and government representatives to confirm that all inputs and recommendations have been captured in the final draft.

This Bill aims to improve the legal framework for NGOs, ensure fair and simple registration, provide access to resources and tax exemptions, promote collaboration and accountability.
