After months of consultations with different communities and different stakeholders coupled with extensive research and discussions, we are finally witnessing the National Validation Workshop of The Gambia’s first-ever National Land Policy!
Today marks a significant milestone in shaping the future of land administration and management in The Gambia.
This policy is a key response to the Recovery-Focused National Development Plan (2023-2027) and is integral to addressing poverty, ensuring equitable access to land resources, and promoting environmental sustainability.
It equally establishes a secure land tenure system, facilitate land reform, promote good land governance, and address gender-responsive and pro-poor land issues.
